When Should I Have My Ceremony?

August 3, 2017

You'll want your final couple's kissing pose just as the sun is setting. You know that picture where there's a beautiful sunburst as you're leaning back and your hair is flying in the wind? Yep, that one. Find out what time sunset is, then plan your ceremony to start exactly one and a half hours before that. Why? Because ceremonies usually take about 30 minutes, then during cocktail hour you'll cover family, all wedding party pictures and your couple's pictures. If sunset is at 7 pm, here is an example:

5:30 - 6:00  Ceremony

6:00 - 6:20  Family pictures

6:20 - 6:40  All wedding party pictures

6:40 - 7:00  Just bride/groom pictures

7:00 - 7:10  Bustle dress/guests are seated

7:15              Grand entrance

If you would like a romantic sunset ceremony, then a First Look will be needed in order to get all of your pictures done ahead of time. Give me a call and we'll work out a timeline that fits your needs!
